January is not even over, and REDMI is already launching the newest addition to their Note series. The new devices include REDMI Note 15 4G, REDMI Note 15 5G, REDMI Note 15 Pro, and REDMI Note 15 Pro+.
In this article, we will focus on the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G.
With a price under PHP30k, what does it offer? Read on to find out.
Starting with the design, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G we have for review comes in a Glacier Blue colorway.
However, we noticed that the device is quite slippery, so we definitely suggest using the case included in the box or getting a new case of your choice for better grip.
The rear camera module features a squircle design, a square shape with significantly bowed sides and rounded corners. The back panel has a smooth finish, with the REDMI logo positioned at the bottom center.
On the front, the device houses a punch-hole selfie camera, which we will discuss in more detail later.
Around the frame, the right side features the power button and volume rockers, while the left side is completely plain. At the bottom, you’ll find the SIM card tray, speaker grille, and charging port, while an additional speaker is located at the top.
In terms of build quality, the device measures 8.19mm thick and weighs 207.1 grams. It also comes with IP66 / IP68 / IP69 / IP69K dust and water resistance and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G features a 6.83-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2772 × 12800).
It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, while the display can reach up to 3200 nits of peak brightness for excellent outdoor visibility.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and offers a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz, with an instantaneous touch sampling rate of 2560Hz.
For media consumption, the display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, enhancing contrast and dynamic range.
It also includes 3840Hz PWM dimming and is certified by TÜV Rheinland for Low Blue Light (hardware solution), Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly performance, helping reduce eye strain during extended use.
In our experience, the display feels vibrant and smooth in daily use. Colors are bright without being oversaturated, scrolling through apps and social media feels fluid, and watching videos or playing games is okay even under direct sunlight.
For cameras, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G features a squircle-shaped rear camera module that houses a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.7 aperture. It uses 16-in-1 pixel binning to produce larger 2.24μm pixels, paired with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor and a 7P lens for improved light capture and image clarity.
Complementing the main sensor is an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, suitable for capturing wider scenes and group shots.
At the front, the device is equipped with a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, positioned at the center of the display.
In good lighting conditions, both the rear and front cameras produce decent and natural colors without appearing overly saturated.
However, in low-light environments, photos tend to look unrealistic with deep blacks, possibly due to the device’s HDR processing.
Powering the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm manufacturing process. It features an octa-core CPU with clock speeds of up to 2.7GHz, paired with an Adreno GPU for smooth everyday performance and gaming.
The device uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with memory configurations including 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB.
Additional features include Xiaomi Offline Communication and the Xiaomi Surge T1S tuner, which helps improve connectivity performance.
On the software side, the smartphone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, delivering a refined and optimized user experience.
For casual scrolling, light work, watching movies, and general entertainment, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G handles tasks smoothly.
Light gaming is also possible, although it may not match the performance of flagship gaming phones. Audio performance is enhanced with dual speakers with decent sound, it also supports up to 400% volume boost, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio certification.
The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a 6500mAh (typical) battery, providing ample capacity for all-day use.
It supports 100W HyperCharge, as well as 22.5W reverse charging.
For its price, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is priced at PHP 27,999 SRP for its 12GB + 512GB storage.
Overall, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G offers a good display, decent camera, and an ample battery with fast charging, making it solid for daily use and media.
While the phone can feel slippery and low-light camera shots aren’t always perfect, its performance and long battery life keep it reliable for most users.
