Nothing has now acquired Essential Inc. which marks a huge comeback for the smartphone brand. This was first sighted back in November 2020 when a document was filed at the UK Intellectual Property Office indicating that Carl Pei’s Nothing Technologies now owns Essential. The paperwork was then accomplished and completed on the first week of January 2021. This now shows that everything that is what’s left of Essential with its logo is now under Nothing’s umbrella.
This would be a big win for Essential which was owned by Andy Rubin who launched the Essential PH-1. After that, there was no follow-up that was released nor new products that were promised. Hopefully, Essential will rise from its ashes and soar like a Phoenix in bring out its true potential.
As of the moment, there are no devices that Nothing has announced yet. Recently, they have acquired an investment of $15 million from Alphabet’s GV. Let us keep our heads up and watch for what would be the first product of Nothing.
