After being leaked for quite a few times, HMD Global Nokia 5.3 is now official. Priced at €189(~P10K), the newest affordable phone will go on sale in April. Thanks to the Android One program, Nokia 5.3 is slated to receive up to Android 12 software update with three years of security updates. With that said, we can now talk about the rest of the specs.
Nokia 5.3 comes in what we assume to be a polycarbonate frame with a glass-like look and surface. The company didn’t explicitly mention the material used for the backing, however, it did point out that the only glass material is the screen. Speaking of, the display is pretty large at 6.55″, matching the Realme 5i. With an IPS LCD, the resolution is only 720p+. Nokia 5.3 is powered by Snapdragon 655 with up to 6GB RAM and single-model 64GB internal storage. It already runs on Android 10 which is the latest version of the OS.
Camera-wise, we’re looking at four cameras on the back and an 8MP sensor for selfies. Housed in what we call Captain America-style camera module, the main sensor is of 13MP f1.8 with 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses. The battery is rated 4000mAh with HMD claiming 2-day battery life. While USB-C is already present, unfortunately, the charging rate is limited to 10W only. Nokia 5.3 comes in Cyan, Sand, and Charcoal colors.
