HMD Global has announced its newest budget phone before 2019 comes to a close. The Nokia 2.3 is priced at €109 (~P6,100) and is available in greed, sand and charcoal colors. It’s already up for pre-order in Russia but is expected to go global around mid-December.
The latest cheap phone from Nokia features a 6.2″ HD+ display that runs on a generous 4000mAH battery. You still need to charge it via MicroUSB, unlike the USB-C of Redmi 8A. However, you do have the benefit of a dedicated Google Assistant button and a slightly better design. HDM Global describes the 3D nano-textured cover and metal framing as “inner high-precision diecast aluminum chassis” that “makes the structure solid and rigid protecting all the components inside.”
For the rest of the specs, Nokia 2.3 is powered by MediaTek A22 with 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The 5MP selfie camera is housed inside a teardrop notch while the 13MP + 5MP dual-cameras are flushed. There’s no fingerprint scanner, so you’re left with face unlock. And while it’s still using Android 9 Pie, it’s already guaranteed to receive 2 years of major Android updates and 3 years of security updates.
