Sources from CMOS image sensor maker PixelArt Imaging told the Chinese financial news site MoneyDJ that the company is preparing for the launch of a “Japanese game console” early next year. And that gear will come from a customer who has been working with PixelArt Imaging for a long time.
GameRant says that this customer is definitely Nintendo, since PixelArt Imaging has been selling parts to the Japanese game giant since 2006.
Also, according to other reports, the so-called Nintendo Switch 2 might come out in 2024. Since the Nintendo Switch has been out for more than six years and didn’t have the most cutting-edge hardware when it came out in 2017, Nintendo might be due for a new system.
When the first Switch came out, 4K TVs were still kind of expensive. But now they are pretty common, so if Nintendo wants to keep up with the times, it will need a system that can output in 4K.
