Samsung announced the release of its new battery packs, which boasts not only the energy capacity it can provide but also the campaign it advocates.
Samsung brings Animal Edition Battery Packs which sports bigger battery and features illustrations of four species of endangered animals as listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. This is part of the company’s ‘Charge the Life’ campaign, which aims to raise awareness about endangered animals.
“As consumers spend more time on their devices, they are demanding batteries with more capacity,” said Byeongju Kim, Vice President and Applicative Product Biz Group Leader, Samsung Electronics. “Our new battery packs will meet the needs of our customers and will simultaneously raise awareness about a critical issue.”
The Animal Edition Battery Packs that will come in two sizes promises perfect companionship for mobile phones while on the go. It will provide a clear power level display and will be able to charge two devices at the same time.
The Giant Panda and Golden Monkey will sport the 11, 300mAH battery pack that is equivalent to more than four times the capacity of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 battery, and can also charge a flat Galaxy Note 4 battery more than twice.
While the Lesser Panda and Fennec Fox will appear on the 8, 400mAH battery pack.
The featured animal will appear more animated as charging level increases. The battery pack functions with the interactive ‘Charge the Life’ mobile app that is available on Google Play and Samsung Galaxy Apps. Unfortunately though no details about the price have been released yet.
