New 5-inch Sony smartphone gets FCC approval

Sony had unveiled the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. Rumors have it that the Japanese company will be announcing the Xperia XZ Pro and Xperia XZ2 flagship at the Mobile World Congress 2018.

However, according to a new report, a 5-inch Sony smartphone may also get unveiled at the event, speculating that it could be the Xperia XZ2 Compact. Latest report revealed that a 135 x 65 mm Sony phone may include a 5-inch display has been certified by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) in the U.S. It has the ID PY7-24118Q.

Some are speculating it to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio, that it will be powered by Snapdragon 845 coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It is also expected to pack a 3,000mAh battery and carry a price tag of 4,999 Yuan, roughly around $792.
