Tinder Announces New Features at Tinder Sparks 2026 Event

Tinder

Tinder announced a range of new features and updates during its first product keynote called Tinder Sparks 2026: Start Something New.

The company introduced changes focused on matching, safety tools, social features, and artificial intelligence.

New Matching Modes

Tinder introduced new and updated modes that allow users to connect based on shared interests.

Music Mode, first launched in 2021, has been redesigned to highlight shared music preferences between users. The feature also integrates with Spotify to show songs or artists on a user’s profile.

The company also introduced Astrology Mode, which allows users to add their birth details to display their Sun, Moon, and Rising zodiac signs.

Events and Video Speed Dating

Tinder is also testing new ways for users to meet beyond the traditional swipe feature.

A new Events feature is being piloted internationally. It allows users to discover local activities and see other singles who plan to attend.

The company also plans to launch video speed dating, where verified users can join scheduled virtual events and have short video conversations with potential matches.

Safety and Moderation Tools

The platform also announced upgrades to its trust and safety system.

The Face Check feature, which verifies whether a person is real through a live camera check, will continue expanding globally.

Tinder is also improving its AI-powered message safety tools:

  • Are You Sure? warns users before sending potentially offensive messages.
  • Does This Bother You? detects harmful messages and now includes an auto-blur feature to hide inappropriate content.

These tools use large language models to better understand tone and context in conversations.

AI-Powered Matching

Tinder also introduced updates designed to personalize recommendations using AI.

The Chemistry system suggests curated matches based on a user’s interests and behavior on the app. It is expanding from Australia and New Zealand to the United States and Canada.

Other new tools include Camera Roll Scan, which analyzes photos (with user permission) to suggest profile insights, and Learning Mode, which adjusts recommendations based on user activity.

New Profile Features and Partnerships

Tinder is also updating profiles to make them more expressive.

Through Tinder Connect, the app will allow integrations with other services such as Duolingo and Beli, alongside the existing partnership with Spotify.

The company is also redesigning the app interface with a new full-screen photo layout and updated design elements.
