We’re back with a new device from TECNO, the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G.
We tested it as our daily driver to see how it performs, and here’s what we found.
First, let’s talk about the design. The device features a simple yet eye-catching appearance. The unit we have comes in the Mystic Purple color variant with a mecha-inspired design.

At the bottom part of the back panel, you’ll also notice a cutout-like design that appears to show what’s inside the phone. However, it’s purely decorative and is part of the overall design.
As for the build, the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G measures just 7.42mm thick and weighs 195 grams, making it comfortable to hold even during extended use.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2436 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, 1600-nit HBM brightness, and up to 4,500-nit peak brightness.

Using the device provided a good viewing experience. Colors are vibrant, details are sharp, and the display gets bright enough for outdoor use.

The slightly curved screen also helps minimize the bezels, making the viewing experience feel more immersive.

For cameras, the phone is equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP front camera.
In daylight, the rear camera produces good-looking photos with pleasing colors and decent dynamic range. Highlights are well controlled, while images remain detailed.
In low-light conditions, photos can sometimes appear soft with noticeable noise. However, when there’s enough ambient lighting, the results are still quite good.
For selfies, the front camera captures crisp and sharp photos with natural-looking colors.
Both the front and rear cameras can record video at 2K resolution at 30 fps.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 (6nm) processor paired with a Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB of internal storage.

For everyday use, the phone performs well. Whether it’s for calls, social media, browsing, streaming, or other entertainment purposes, the experience is smooth and responsive.

Gaming is also enjoyable. We tested Mobile Legends, and gameplay was smooth with no noticeable lag. We’ll be publishing a dedicated gaming review soon, so stay tuned for a more in-depth look at its gaming performance.
Benchmark Results
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G packs a massive 8,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging.

Battery life is one of its strongest features. It’s more than enough for casual users and can easily last up to two days on a single charge. During our gaming test, we only noticed an 8% battery drop, which is impressive.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is priced at PHP 16,499.
Considering its PHP 16,499 price tag, the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is a solid and well-balanced mid-range smartphone. It offers a unique design, capable cameras, and strong battery life.

However, if you’re a heavy gamer or a power user looking for flagship-level performance, this may not be the ideal choice.
Still, for those looking for a reliable mid-range device, the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is definitely worth considering.
