This means Google plans a second update later in 2025, likely referred to as Android 16.1. This minor release, scheduled for Q4 2025, will focus on feature enhancements, optimizations, and bug fixes.

Overall, Google‘s move to launch the update earlier aims to ensure that both its Pixel devices and other flagship Android phones come equipped with the latest software.
