Sony has unveiled a Midnight Black version of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition in Japan.

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Midnight Black will be released in Japan on November 19, coinciding with the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. The new variant sports an all-black design with subtle blue-light accents and also comes with a matching DualSense controller.
Internal hardware remains identical to the standard Digital Edition, featuring the same custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 processor and 825GB SSD. Since it does not have a disk drive, users can purchase a matching Midnight Black detachable disc drive separately to play physical games.
However, a strict region lock currently limits the console. Users must set the device to a Japan-region PlayStation account configured to the Japanese language to use it.
Sony has yet to reveal details regarding availability in other markets.

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Midnight Black is priced at JPY 55,000 (~PHP 21,924), while the Midnight Black Disk Drive retails for JPY 11,980 (~PHP 4,775).
It will be available to pre-order starting October 20 through official PlayStation retailers and online stores in Japan.
