Samsung Begins One UI 9 Rollout

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices, with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra receiving the update first.

The update previously debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8. One UI 9 adds new features for video editing, personalization, device management, translation, scanning, and security.

New One UI 9 Features

  • My FanCam: Automatically tracks a selected person in a recorded video and keeps them centered in the frame.
  • Now Brief: Adds editable and generative cards for health, weather, and video information.
  • Warranty and Care: Lets users check warranty coverage, run device diagnostics, view repair estimates, and manage Samsung Care+ from Settings.
  • Now Nudge: Provides context-based suggestions, such as showing reservation details or saving a shared location while messaging.
  • Creative Studio: Suggests image-generation ideas based on upcoming events, such as birthdays.
  • Interpreter: Adds Thread View for translated conversations and faster translation in Conversation Mode.
  • Document Scan: Improves scanning of curved book pages and folded documents with less manual adjustment.
  • Voice Recorder: Provides more structured summaries with headings and tables.

Security and Privacy Updates

One UI 9 also adds several security and privacy features:

  • Security Brief: Shows alerts about malware, apps from unknown sources, and unnecessary permissions through Now Brief.
  • Privacy Alerts: Uses on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks involving app permissions.
  • Scam Detection: Expands protection against potential scam calls to more countries and languages.

Samsung said the One UI 9 rollout will expand to additional Galaxy devices following the initial Galaxy S26 series rollout.
