
Sony has introduced the Sony Xperia 1 VIII smartphone.
The device features a 6.5-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, HDR support, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and comes with a 5,000mAh battery. Sony said the phone supports gentle charging and wireless charging.
The smartphone is available in several memory and storage configurations, including 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 512GB or 1TB storage. It also supports microSDXC cards up to 2TB.

For cameras, the phone includes a triple rear setup with ZEISS T* coating on all lenses. The main system consists of a 48MP ultra-wide camera, a 48MP wide camera, and a 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
The device also supports 2x optical-equivalent zoom options at 48mm and 140mm focal lengths. On the front, it has a 12MP selfie camera.
The device is rated IPX5/IPX8 for water resistance and IP6X for dust resistance. Sony also said the phone will receive up to four Android OS version upgrades and six years of security updates.
