Google introduced Gemini Intelligence for Android, a new AI system designed for Android.
The company said Gemini Intelligence will bring more AI features to Android phones, watches, cars, glasses, and laptops.
One of the main features is task automation. Gemini can help users complete actions across different apps, such as booking rides, creating shopping carts, or finding information from Gmail.
Users can also use photos or on-screen content as part of commands. For example, Gemini can scan a grocery list and automatically prepare an online shopping cart.
Another new feature is Rambler for Gboard. The tool improves voice typing by removing filler words, fixing repeated phrases, and turning casual speech into cleaner text. It also supports multiple languages in one message.
Also, starting in late June, Gemini in Chrome will help users summarize web pages, compare information, and assist with tasks like booking appointments or reserving parking spaces.
Autofill with Google is also getting an upgrade. Android devices connected to Gemini will be able to fill out more forms automatically using information from connected apps. Google said the feature is optional and can be turned on or off anytime.
Google also introduced Create My Widget, which allows users to create custom Android widgets using simple text commands. Users can make widgets for things like meal plans, weather updates, or other personal interests.
The update also includes a refreshed Android design based on Material 3 Expressive, which aims to make the interface cleaner and easier to use.
Gemini Intelligence for Android will first launch this summer on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and Google Pixel 10 devices before expanding to more Android products later this year.
