OPPO is scheduled to globally release the ColorOS 17 on October 13, 2026.

ColorOS 17 is based on Android 17, bringing a revamped visual design, enhanced system performance, and built-in AI features to OPPO, OnePlus, and realme devices.
The new update introduces Fluid Design, integrating frosted glass layers, smoother animations, and a floating capsule bar for navigation. At its core, the brand added three new engines: Aurora Engine, Elastic Feedback, and Tidal Engine.
The new Aurora Engine integrates directly into the rendering pipeline to drive fluid animations across transitions, allowing elements like the lock screen clock to flow into the home screen upon unlocking, while UI components transition between screens during daily interactions.
Meanwhile, the Elastic Feedback gives interactive elements physical responsiveness by stretching under pressure, while Condensate effects apply clear, translucent layers with finger-tracking light effects to display status updates without sacrificing readability.
The new Tidal Engine predicts usage patterns and intent to optimize resource scheduling. Improved background memory retention keeps apps active, allowing seamless resumption of feeds, streaming video, or ongoing form inputs.
ColorOS 17 also comes with AI tools, including AI Photo Editor that uses DaVinci visual understanding model for one-stop editing, AI Memory Gallery that creates an AI album photobook using photo compilation and copywriting to form Plogs, AI Notes that allows listening and taking notes simultaneously during meetings, and more.
Additionally, the update adds connectivity across cars, cameras, earphones, and watches, along with sports and security integrations.

The global rollout begins in October for flagship devices, including the OPPO Find X9 and X8 series, OnePlus 15 and 13 series, and the realme GT8 Pro. More devices, including the Reno family, OPPO A-series, and tablets, are slated to receive the update through late 2026 and early 2027, with OPPO confirming older models will be covered in subsequent phases.
The Open Beta for the ColorOS is also currently available for select devices.
