It has been more than half a year since the realme 15 Series 5G was launched in the Philippines.
Now, realme is back with a new entry in its number series, and one of them is the realme 16 Pro.
Here’s what the device brings this year.
Starting with the design, the realme 16 Pro offers a refreshing look in a market filled with similar-looking smartphones.
It isn’t overly flashy, but it does appear premium at first glance. Our review unit comes in the Pebble Grey colorway. However, while the design suggests a premium feel, the build tells a different story.

The device uses a plastic back and frame, which is immediately noticeable when held. It may not feel as solid as phones with a metal chassis, but it still offers good durability. It is rated IP68 and IP69K, meaning it can handle water splashes and even accidental submersion.

In daily use, the phone feels comfortable in the hand. It is relatively lightweight at 192 grams and fairly slim. That said, the camera module design makes it slightly uneven on flat surfaces.

The back texture can also be a bit slippery, so using the included case is recommended.
On the front, the device features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 6500 nits of peak brightness.

For multimedia consumption, it delivers vibrant colors and sharp details. The slim bezels enhance the viewing experience, making it more immersive, especially for watching content.
Outdoor visibility is another strong point. Even under direct sunlight, the display remains clear and readable. Watching videos outside is still enjoyable, with colors and details staying visible.

Overall, the display performs well across different use cases, whether for gaming, streaming, or productivity.
For cameras, the realme 16 Pro features a dual rear setup with a 200MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens, along with a 50MP front camera.

In daylight, the camera delivers detailed and sharp images with a wide dynamic range. Colors appear natural, and highlights are well-controlled, making it suitable for social media use.
Low-light photography is one of its stronger areas. The device produces sharp images with good detail and accurate color reproduction.
For selfies, the front camera captures natural skin tones. Outdoor shots retain good detail, but indoor images tend to appear slightly soft, particularly in facial features.
Both front and rear cameras support video recording up to 4K at 30fps.
Under the hood, the realme 16 Pro is powered by a 4nm Dimensity 7300 Max chipset. For light tasks, performance is smooth and responsive.

Video editing is manageable, though minor lag can occur when accessing heavier elements like transition libraries. Navigation remains fluid even under load, with smooth animations and seamless app switching. Social media browsing is also handled without issues.

Gaming performance is mixed. In Wuthering Waves, set to balanced settings at 60fps, the experience is not ideal, with noticeable frame drops and stutters during combat. However, lighter titles such as Call of Duty Mobile run without problems.
In terms of battery, the device packs a large 7000mAh capacity paired with 80W wired charging. During testing, 45 minutes of video playback at 50% brightness and volume resulted in only a 4% battery drop.

Power users can expect around 6 to 7 hours of screen time, while casual users may get up to one to two days of usage on a single charge.
For the price, the realme 16 Pro is priced at PHP31,999 for the 8GB+256GB and PHP37,999 for the 12GB+512GB storage.
Overall, the realme 16 Pro is a capable all-around smartphone. It offers a vibrant display, strong battery life, durable build, and reliable camera performance.

However, in its price segment, it lacks standout performance power. If performance is your top priority, this may not be the best option. But for users looking for a balanced everyday device, the realme 16 Pro remains a solid choice.
