Google is now rolling out the “Past Chats” feature to free Gemini users worldwide.
The Past Chats feature allows Gemini to reference the user’s previous conversations to tailor future replies. As a result, the AI gains insight into the user’s preferences for more tailored responses, without explicitly recalling the previous conversation.
For instance, in a new chat about a topic, the user does not need to explicitly state how far they have come if they have already explored it. Users can also ask Gemini whether it used information from past chats.
In Gemini settings, there will be a “Personal context” page where users can enable or disable Past Chats.
Google is also planning to expand the feature to connect with services like Gmail and Photos for free in the future.
The “Past Chats” feature is now rolling out to all free users worldwide, except in Europe.
