Qualcomm is expected to introduce its next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, in September 2026.
Ahead of its launch, a new leak claims that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro may not deliver a major jump in CPU performance.
According to rumors, the 2nm chip could offer less than 20% improvement in CPU performance compared to its predecessor since the focus may shift to GPU upgrades.
The report says the chipset could feature an improved Adreno A850 GPU, along with a larger cache and support for LPDDR6 memory. These changes may lead to better gaming performance and improved on-device AI processing.

On the CPU side, Qualcomm is still expected to use a dual Prime core setup. However, it may change how the performance cores are arranged.
Rather than using six identical cores at the same speed, the chip could adopt a 3+3 configuration with different clock speeds.
A standard version, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, is also rumored to launch alongside the Pro model, possibly offering a smaller performance upgrade.
As of now, these details are based on leaks and have not been officially confirmed. Stay tuned.
