Apple supplier Foxconn has reportedly begun trial production of the upcoming foldable iPhone, according to MacRumors.
However, reports suggest it may not arrive in Apple’s usual September release window. Instead, it could be released later in the year, possibly in December.
With that being said, Apple may still announce it alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models during its September event, but the actual release could happen separately.

The foldable iPhone is expected to be Apple’s first device in this category. It is rumored to have a 5.5-inch display when folded and a larger 7.8-inch screen when opened. The device may use a 4:3 aspect ratio, making it closer in shape to an iPad-style layout.
Design reports also say the phone could be around 4.5mm when unfolded.

Also, it may not include a triple-camera system and could skip Face ID, and might use a side-mounted Touch ID button instead.
The device, widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, is expected to launch in 2026.
Stay tuned for the official announcement.
