HONOR just launched its newest device in the Philippine market, the HONOR 600S.
We already got a review covering its features, but in this article we’re going to use this device mainly for gaming to see how it performs.
Mobile Legends
We started our gaming test with Mobile Legends. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 37.6°C, with all available settings set to maximum.

Since all game assets were downloaded, we did not encounter any stutters on the home screen. However, the character selection screen was slightly laggy. Once inside a match, gameplay was smooth, although the device struggled to maintain the ideal 60 FPS. The phone also heated up noticeably during the test.
With the maximum available settings, Mobile Legends averaged 48 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 44°C after 10 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 48 FPS average
- Temperature: from 37.6°C to 44°C after 10 minutes of gameplay
League of Legends: Wild Rift
Next, we tested League of Legends: Wild Rift. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 39.4°C, and we used the maximum available settings with the frame rate set to 120 FPS.

We encountered occasional freezes and stutters during the opening sequence. Once inside the Rift, performance was similar to Mobile Legends. However, the phone became hotter as the session progressed, and its response time slowed down. Despite these issues, the game remained playable.
With the 120 FPS option enabled, League of Legends: Wild Rift averaged 54 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 46°C after 10 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 54 FPS average
- Temperature: from 39.4°C to 46°C after 10 minutes of gameplay
Call of Duty: Mobile
Next up is Call of Duty: Mobile. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 36.1°C. For this test, we used medium graphics with the frame rate set to maximum.
Loading times were fast, and performance was better than in the first two games. Gameplay remained smooth, with no noticeable frame drops or stutters during gunfights. Aiming and executing flick shots also felt responsive. However, we recommend downloading all game assets beforehand to help avoid potential bugs and slowdowns.

With medium graphics and the maximum available frame rate, Call of Duty: Mobile averaged 54 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 40°C after 10 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 54 FPS average
- Temperature: from 36.1°C to 40°C after 10 minutes of gameplay
Asphalt Legends
Next, we tested Asphalt Legends. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 36.9°C. We used the high graphics preset with the frame rate set to 60 FPS.
Although the game did not consistently reach 60 FPS, gameplay remained relatively smooth. We did not notice significant stutters or frame drops across different race tracks. However, the phone’s temperature increased quickly even during the short session.

With the high graphics preset and 60 FPS selected, Asphalt Legends averaged 44 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 42°C after 6 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 44 FPS average
- Temperature: from 36.9°C to 42°C after 6 minutes of gameplay
Zenless Zone Zero
Moving on to heavier titles, we started with Zenless Zone Zero. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 37.3°C. We used the low graphics settings with the frame rate set to 60 FPS.
Performance was poor, with frequent stutters and frame drops even outside combat. Noticeable slowdowns affected the overall experience, making the game difficult to play. While the device may be sufficient for completing simple daily tasks, we would not recommend it for extended gameplay.

With low graphics and 60 FPS selected, Zenless Zone Zero averaged 18 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 43°C after 6 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 18 FPS average
- Temperature: from 37.3°C to 43°C after 6 minutes of gameplay
Genshin Impact
Next is Genshin Impact. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 38.7°C. We used the low graphics settings with the frame rate set to 60 FPS.
Compared to Zenless Zone Zero, performance was better. The game felt more responsive, and gameplay was relatively smoother. Combat in the Spiral Abyss was manageable, with few noticeable frame drops or performance issues when switching characters or activating skills. Overall, Genshin Impact remained playable at these settings.

With low graphics and 60 FPS selected, Genshin Impact averaged 37 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 44°C after 10 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 37 FPS average
- Temperature: from 38.7°C to 44°C after 10 minutes of gameplay
Wuthering Waves
Lastly, we tested Wuthering Waves. The HONOR 600S had a starting temperature of 39.2°C. We used the lowest graphics preset with the frame rate set to 60 FPS.
Loading times were slow, but performance was manageable in the earlier regions. We encountered noticeable frame drops and stutters, although the game remained somewhat playable. However, performance worsened in newer regions, where the phone struggled to keep up. Similar to Zenless Zone Zero, we would not recommend this device for playing Wuthering Waves.

With the lowest graphics preset and 60 FPS selected, Wuthering Waves averaged 25 FPS, with a maximum temperature of 45°C after 6 minutes of gameplay.
- FPS Results: 25 FPS average
- Temperature: from 39.2°C to 45°C after 6 minutes of gameplay
Verdict
Overall, the HONOR 600S delivered mixed results in our gaming tests. It handled competitive and casual games reasonably well, particularly Call of Duty: Mobile, but struggled with heavier titles such as Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves.
One of the main concerns was temperature. The phone reached 40°C or higher in every game we tested, with temperatures reaching as high as 46°C after just 10 minutes of gameplay. Longer sessions may present additional challenges, particularly in demanding games.
Based on our tests, the HONOR 600S is not an ideal choice for users who prioritize mobile gaming. While it can handle several popular titles, its performance in demanding games and tendency to heat up may affect the overall experience. Those looking for smoother gameplay in more demanding titles may want to consider a device with a more capable chipset.
That wraps up our gaming test of the HONOR 600S. What do you think of its gaming performance? Let us know in the comments below.
