Valve Updates Timeline for Valve Steam Machine

Valve

Valve, owner of Steam, is sticking to its previous announcement in November 2025 as all three devices are still on track for a first-half 2026 release.

These are the Steam Machine, Steam Frame VR headset, and new Steam Controller.

Through a post on Steam, Valve confirmed that all three products are still planned to launch in the first half of 2026.

The Steam Machine, a compact PC running SteamOS, has drawn the most attention so far. Valve previously said it would offer up to six times the performance of the Steam Deck.

The company also confirmed that the Steam Machine’s RAM and SSD will be user-upgradeable, using DDR5 SODIMMs and NVMe SSDs.

However, the company said the products are not ready to announce exact release dates or pricing yet.

Why no price or date? Well, this is because of the ongoing memory and storage shortages that led to higher component costs and limited supply.

Valve said its goal to ship all three products within the first half of the year has not changed, but it wants to finalize details before making firm announcements.

Valve Corporation is the same company behind games like Half-Life, Portal, and Counter-Strike.
