TP-Link Announces Archer 8 Wi-Fi 8 Router

TP-Link Systems Inc. has announced Archer 8, its first router based on the upcoming Wi-Fi 8 (IEEE 802.11bn) standard.

The company said Wi-Fi 8 focuses on improving connection stability in busy home networks, where multiple devices, walls, and interference can affect performance. It is intended to address issues such as speed drops, congestion, and latency spikes.

In internal testing under simulated home conditions, TP-Link reported that early Wi-Fi 8 builds showed higher throughput and improved consistency compared to Wi-Fi 7.

The figures cited include up to 33% higher throughput, along with gains in multi-device performance and signal sensitivity in certain scenarios.

TP-Link also outlined future products under the same standard, including a mesh system planned for 2027, a travel router, and additional networking accessories.

Specifications and availability may vary by region and will be confirmed closer to launch.

The device is scheduled to launch in October 2026.
