HONOR X9d Review

HONOR X9d 5G

HONOR has officially launched a new mid-range device in the Philippines, the HONOR X9d 5G.

As we all know, HONOR has been performing smash, drop, and boil tests for four years. This year, the HONOR X9d 5G was challenged with the Tesla Cybertruck, once again highlighting the brand’s focus on durability.

But aside from its durability, which we tested on January 1, 2026, how does it perform? What about the cameras? Is it a worthy smartphone overall? We’re going to find that out in this review.

Read more to find out.

Design

Starting off with the design, the HONOR X9d 5G that we have for review is in a Reddish Brown colorway.

Holding the device is easy, it comes with a 7.76mm thickness and weighs 193 grams.

The device also carries an IP69K for dust and water resistance, making it both stylish and durable.

The frame has a metallic accent around the edges. The power button and volume rockers are on the right side, while the speaker grille, SIM card slot, and charging port are located at the bottom.

The back of the device shows a circular camera module with the same gold lining, it is slightly raised but does not make the phone unstable when placed on flat surfaces.

The front features a punch-hole display for the selfie camera as well. Overall, the phone has a simple, functional design.

Display

Now, let’s talk about the screen. The HONOR X9d 5G sports a 6.79-inch display with a 2640 x 1200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 6000 nits peak brightness.

As mentioned, it is a durable device so HONOR takes a step further with what5 they call the HONOR ultra-bounce anti-drop technology with SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification.

In our experience, the display delivers consistent brightness and good visuals. Touch response is reliable, and the refresh rate makes interface navigation okay. The device feels solid in hand, and the added durability features provide extra reassurance during daily use.

Camera

For cameras, the vivo X300 is equipped with a dual-camera setup consisting of a 108MP (f/1.75) ultra-sensing main camera paired with 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide camera. Up front, the punch-hole module houses a 16MP (f/2.45) selfie camera.

Rear Camera Sample

The main 108MP camera produces detailed shots with colors that are generally true to life, though there’s a subtle smoothening effect that slightly softens skin tones.

Photos are suitable for social media posts with minimal editing.

Lowlight Sample

Low-light performance is decent, images can appear slightly blurry depending on conditions, which is understandable given the lighting.

Selfie Camera Sample

The 16MP front camera delivers good results with natural skin tones and adequate detail for daily use and social media sharing.

The rear camera supports high-resolution recording up to 4K with stable and usable output for casual shooting.

Performance, Chipset, Storage, and Software

Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a mid‑range smartphone chipset from Qualcomm that is good for everyday users, media consumption, with a bit of casual gaming. It also comes with Qualcomm Adreno A810 GPU.

The HONOR X9d 5G runs on Android 16 with OriginOS 6. Our review unit features 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

In daily use, the phone performs smoothly with minimal slowdowns. Apps open quickly, switching between tasks is smooth, and media playback is stable. Overall, it provides a reliable and responsive experience for most users.

Battery and Charging

The HONOR X9d 5G is equipped with an 8300mAh Li-ion polymer battery.

In daily use, the large battery provides long-lasting performance, easily lasting a full day of moderate to heavy usage. Charging times are reasonable with the 66W wired charger.

In our review, we also tested the device as a hotspot, and it handled the load without noticeable heating. Battery performance remained stable throughout the session.

Price and Verdict

The HONOR X9d 5G is priced at PHP18,999 for the 12GB with 256GB configuration.

Overall, the HONOR X9d 5G is a solid mid-range phone. It is reliable for everyday tasks, media consumption, and social media use. For users looking for a durable mid-range phone with a large battery and capable cameras, the X9d 5G is a practical choice.
