Oppo Watch X Confirmed to Debut on March 22

Oppo has officially unveiled the Oppo Watch X, set to hit the Chinese market on March 22. If you’ve been keeping an eye on the smartwatch scene, you might remember it making its debut in Malaysia on February 29, initially under the guise of the OnePlus Watch 2 at MWC 2024.

Now, here’s the scoop on what sets the Chinese and Global versions apart. While the global variant runs on Google’s Wear OS 4, the Chinese version opts for Oppo’s ColorOS Watch based on AOSP. This strategic move could potentially result in a more budget-friendly price tag for the Chinese consumers, without compromising on hardware.

Speaking of hardware, the Oppo Watch X boasts a sleek design with a 1.43″ 466×466 resolution circular AMOLED display. The watch flaunts a pixel-packed 326PPI density and can hit a dazzling 1000 nits in high brightness mode, perfect for those sunny days. With a 500mAh battery and weighing in at a mere 80 grams (strap included), it’s a lightweight companion for your wrist.

Under the hood, Oppo Watch X flexes its muscles with a dual-chipset architecture. The Snapdragon W5 chip handles the heavy lifting, while an ultra low-power co-processor microcontroller unit (BES2700BP) takes charge during less demanding tasks. What’s even more impressive is the promised 12-day battery life, a testament to its efficient design.

Now, let’s talk colors! The global version offers the following colors:

  • Platinum Black
  • Mars Brown

Featuring a strap made of “fluororubber” and a stainless steel buckle. Fancy, right?

While the Chinese pricing is yet to be officially revealed, leaks suggest a price tag of around ¥1,000 (PHP7,799). What do you think?
