It’s not every day we see an NBA player in the Philippines, but on May 9, 2025, the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall turned into a basketball venue as NBA player Jeremy Sochan of the San Antonio Spurs joined the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 3.
Jeremy Sochan is a Polish-American professional basketball player known as the Rising Star at the NBA All-Star events in 2023 and 2024. He is also recognized for his strong defense and standout performance at the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship.
The event is hosted by vivo Philippines, featuring a meet-and-greet with the NBA player, where Sochan engaged with fans, was interviewed by event host KC Montero, and signed autographs.
According to Sochan, although he began traveling at the young age of four, this is his first time in Asia, and the first country he visited is the Philippines.
Sochan also shared that as a 21-year-old, his go-to angle for taking photos using the vivo V50 5G is the regular selfie angle. With that, he took a selfie with the audience, made up of both NBA and vivo fans.
The vivo V50 5G comes with a triple ZEISS All Main Camera setup, a 50MP OIS main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and 50MP selfie camera.
Adding to the excitement, Jeremy Sochan revealed that he plans to use the famous Pinoy Step as part of his first play in the upcoming NBA season.
The following day, May 10, 2025, was the grand finals of the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 3. The event also featured other quick activities like a free throw challenge, where even kids joined in.
Everyone who participated in these games received a consolation prize, so no one went home empty-handed.
In between the games, the NU Dance Company also performed, while players took a break and prepared for their next games.
Overall, in the Women’s Division, Uncle Drew Pilipinas came out on top as champions, with Uratex Dream finishing as 1st runner-up, Valkyries taking 2nd runner-up, and DGC Steel landing 3rd runner-up.
For the Men’s Division, Solaris Power Corp 3×3 claimed the championship, followed by Sports Flooring Global Kings as 1st runner-up. Uncle Drew Pilipinas also made it as 2nd runner-up, and Elite rounded out the winners as 3rd runner-up.
Each winning team took home trophies, medals, stuffed toys, vivo phones, and cash prizes of up to Php 30,000.
