LRT-2 Now Accepts Tap-to-Pay Cards

Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), the Department of Transportation (DOTr), RCBC, and Visa activated the new tap-to-pay system at LRT-2 stations.

Commuters can use NFC-enabled devices, Visa or Mastercard debit, credit, and prepaid cards, as well as GCash QR to pay directly at station turnstiles instead of purchasing a ticket.

To mark the launch, RCBC is offering a PISO Fare Cashback Promo until July 31.

Eligible users who pay the regular LRT-2 fare using a qualified payment method will receive cashback, reducing the cost of each ride to PHP 1 after the refund is credited to the original payment method.

The promo includes:

  • RCBC Visa and Mastercard credit cards: Up to PHP 300 cashback
  • MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech: Up to eight LRT-2 rides per day are eligible for cashback

The new payment system is now available at LRT-2 stations.
