Google has renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook as it expands the AI-powered research tool across its ecosystem.
Despite the new name, Gemini Notebook remains a standalone product designed for research, note-taking, and organizing information.

The company is rolling out an update that gives each notebook a secure cloud computer, allowing Gemini Notebook to write and run code.
This enables users to perform more advanced data analysis using the sources stored in their notebooks.
The feature is currently available to Google AI Ultra subscribers and eligible Google Workspace business customers.
Google said support for Pro users on the web will roll out over the next few weeks.

Users can already create and access notebooks from the Gemini app, with changes syncing between the app and the standalone Gemini Notebook.
Google also plans to bring notebooks into AI Mode in Google Search in a future update.
