HONOR has officially unveiled the latest MagicOS 11 at its Global Developer Conference in China recently.
The Android 17-based MagicOS 11 introduces Dynamic Liquid Glass effects, which HONOR developed using its custom Luminous and Hummingbird base architectures. Powered by a new physical animation engine capable of variable-parameter and chain-bounce models, the new architecture delivers smoother liquid animation effects across Android. As a result, MagicOS 11 achieves a 20% boost in UI smoothness across supported devices, offering noticeably fluid system navigation and animations.
The update also expands multi-protocol fast charging support and improves wireless charging efficiency across non-proprietary chargers. Connectivity also gets a major boost with the Hongyan AI Cloud Map, which intelligently selects optimal networks to preserve connection quality in weak-signal areas. Furthermore, the system adds dual Bluetooth audio streaming, enabling two headsets to connect and listen from a single device simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Storage Space 2.0 introduces lossless data compression, which auto-cleans redundant files, increasing the phone’s storage space and saving up to 60GB of memory.
MagicOS 11 also expands cross-platform integration, enabling seamless file sharing and device interaction with Apple hardware as well as phones from OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi.
Apple ecosystem integration gets a major upgrade in MagicOS 11 as well, enabling HONOR smartphones to seamlessly sync calls, messages, and incoming notifications across iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, and iPad devices.
Availability
According to HONOR, MagicOS 11 will officially debut in China alongside the HONOR Magic9 series on September 28. Meanwhile, software testing is already underway for select flagships, including the HONOR Magic8 series and the Magic V6 and V5 foldables.
