LG UltraGear evo Gaming Monitors Unveiled

LG Electronics has announced a new lineup of premium gaming monitors ahead of CES 2026.

The LG Ultragear evo offers three flagship models – 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B. These models all feature LG’s built-in on-device AI, enabling 5K or higher resolutions. It improves image quality in real time before the content even reaches the screen. The AI system also fine-tunes visuals through scene optimization and adjusts audio output.

LG UltraGear evo GM9 (27GM950B)

The LG UltraGear evo GM9 (27GM950B) sports a 27-inch display and is claimed to be the world’s first 5K MiniLED monitor designed to significantly reduce blooming. It has 2,304 local dimming zones and 1,250 nits peak brightness with VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. There’s also a Zero Optical Distance feature, which cuts down the gap between the panel and LED for high brightness and contrast accuracy, keeping fine details intact in both bright and dark scenes.

The monitor also comes with Dual Mode operation, which allows users to toggle between 165Hz at 5K resolution and 330Hz at QHD, with a 1ms (GtG) response time. On-device AI enhancement features include 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound to enhance image and audio in real-time without GPU overhead.

LG UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B)

The LG UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B) flaunts a 39-inch panel with Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology for improved brightness, color accuracy, and panel longevity. It has a 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide screen and runs at 142 PPI with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for detailed highlights and deep blacks in dark scenes.

Like the 27-inch model, the GX9 monitor has On-device AI enhancement features like 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound. Users can also switch between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD through Dual Mode, and have a 0.03ms GTG response time.

LG UltraGear G9 (52G930B)

The LG UltraGear G9 is the largest monitor in the lineup, sporting a 52-inch panel. It is also claimed to be the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor, offering a 240 Hz refresh rate. According to the brand, the screen can get the same vertical space as a standard 42-inch 16:9 display, but a 33-percent wider experience compared to standard UHD monitors.

The G9 also has a 1000R curvature and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification for vivid color and deep contrast.

LG will showcase the UltraGear evo lineup at CES 2026. Pricing and availability details are still under wraps, so stay tuned for more updates.
