Mozilla Officially Rolls Out Firefox 135.0

Mozilla has launched Firefox 135.0 globally.

This new browser features AI-driven tools, expanded language support, and improved privacy features.

With the new features, Firefox Translations now supports Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, with Russian added as a target language.

A new AI Chatbot from the sidebar or Firefox Labs, is also available worldwide.

Expanded Translation Support: Firefox Translations now supports Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and includes Russian as a target language for translations.

Credit Card Autofill: The credit card autofill feature is being gradually rolled out to all users globally.

AI Chatbot: The AI Chatbot feature is also being gradually rolled out. Users can access it through the sidebar or Firefox Labs, with an option to select a provider.

Certificate Transparency: Firefox 135.0 now enforces certificate transparency, requiring web servers to prove that their certificates were publicly disclosed before being trusted.

Improved Performance: The CRLite certificate revocation checking mechanism is being rolled out to improve performance.

History API Safeguards: Firefox prevents sites from misusing the history API to create excessive entries, improving navigation with back and forward buttons.

macOS and Linux Updates: Users on macOS and Linux can now close only the current tab using the Quit keyboard shortcut when multiple tabs are open.

New Tab Layout: The refreshed New Tab layout is now available globally, offering improved organization with Web Search, Shortcuts, and Recommended Stories.

Privacy Settings: The “Do Not Track” checkbox has been removed, replaced by the “Tell websites not to sell or share my data” option, built on Global Privacy Control (GPC).

Developer Tools: New enhancements for WebExtension debugging and improved console commands.

Web Platform Updates: Firefox adds support for post-quantum key exchange in HTTP/3, fractional values for PointerEvent coordinates, and the WebAuthn getClientCapabilities() method.

  • Hardware:
    • Processor: Intel or Apple Silicon
    • RAM: 512 MB
    • Storage: 200 MB of free space

For Linux:

  • Basic Requirements:
    • glibc 2.17 or higher
    • GTK+ 3.14 or higher
    • libglib 2.42 or higher
    • libstdc++ 4.8.1 or higher
    • X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher recommended)
