Microsoft is officially ending support for its Android email app, Microsoft Outlook Lite.
From its name, Outlook Lite was launched as a lightweight version of email for Android users.
However, Microsoft is now moving users away from the app and encouraging them to use Outlook Mobile instead.
In case you didn’t know, Microsoft had already restricted new downloads of Outlook Lite since October 2025, and remaining users are expected to transition before the shutdown.
On the other hand, the full Outlook Mobile app remains available for both Android and iOS users and Microsoft advises Outlook Lite users to switch to avoid losing access to their email accounts.
The app will be removed from the Google Play Store on May 26, 2026. After this, users will no longer be able to access their mail through the app once it is fully shut down.
