Microsoft recently announced that they’re working on a soon-to-be-unveiled Surface phone, however, some new news states that development and eventually launching would be delayed for 2017. Why did Microsoft delay the project? Let’s dig in a little deeper.

Additional, it seems that the delay was done because Microsoft seems to be working on not only one but 3 surface phones that are set to show themselves sometime in 2017. Variants pertaining to consumer, business and prosumer are expected to show up, though information about these possible three variations has yet to be finalised.
This development might have resulted to a few Lumia handsets to be pushed back and even cancelled, which is actually obvious since Microsoft is really putting all the stops on the upcoming new Surface phones.
