Messenger Rooms by Facebook Is a Zoom Alternative That Connects up to 50 Users

Facebook has discovered and developed a new way to ruin your privacy– I mean, the company behind the largest social media platform is delivering a new feature that will soon let you group call up to 50 users. Dubbed as Messenger Rooms, through Messenger or Facebook, you can invite anyone to join your video call even if they don’t have a Facebook account. In the future, the company will let you connect with larger groups with no time limit. It’s funny to think when the company said that it wants people to spend quality with friends, albeit on a timed connection.

Nevertheless, the feature will be accessible first through Groups and Events and Facebook’s News Feed. In the future, you’ll be able to access wide-video calling from Instagram Direct, WhatsApp, and Portal. To ensure “privacy” is in place, Messenger Rooms settings include removing people from the call and locking the “room” to prevent others from joining.

Facebook announced that Messenger Rooms availability per country will start this week and will expand to greater areas in the coming weeks. The company has also added and brought back features to other services in which you can see here.
