Presidential aspirant Sen. Manny Pacquiao has recently launched his own esports team called Team Pacquiao GG (TPGG).
“We are launching Team Pacquiao to sow the seed of Filipino excellence in international esports competitions. Our purpose is to become the pound for pound esports heavyweights of Southeast Asia through community engagements, professional teams, content creation, and charitable giving,” Pacquiao said.
Team Pacquiao GG is formed in partnership with global esports company Veloce as part of its expansion in Southeast Asia.
The said esports team will be focusing on games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty, Valorant, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Axie Infinity, and Halo Infinite, with the goal of building the national esports gaming team of the Philippines.
Currently, Pacquiao’s TPGG is composed of a five-man team with vast experience in the esports scene and will be creating content for the team. The team includes SH1N BOO, SUPERKIMBIE, GHOST WRECKER, Een Mercado, and Gloco.
“As I step away from boxing, I want to continue to give something back to the Filipino people who have given me so much support and love in my career. We have a lot in store for the community and I can’t wait to be a part of this journey with Team Pacquiao. This is only just the beginning,” Pacquiao said.
