As part of its many announcements at IFA 2022, HONOR confirmed that, in addition to the global release of the 70, Pad 8, and MagicBook 14, it will soon release a foldable flagship to international markets and provided a sneak peek at MagicOS 7.0.
The HONOR Magic V foldable is currently available, however, China is still the sole market for that gadget. Only Samsung and Huawei are actively competing in the foldable market, but that is about to change.
It is unclear if HONOR CEO George Zhao intends for the Magic V to be released worldwide. Given that it has made the vanilla HONOR 70 official across the globe, the Magic V may also be released in international markets, albeit with some modifications, at the very least involving Google services.
Zhao also disclosed that MagicOS 7.0 is in development, despite the success of MagicOS 6.1 on the HONOR 70 and Pad 8. The new OS would “deliver a seamless experience across the cross-platform, cross-device experiences,” as the developers put it.
One of the most exciting new features in HONOR’s MagicOS 7.0 is the ability to use a single set of controls to manage several HONOR devices, such as a laptop, tablet, and phone. This should allow it to drag and drop files across the devices without any problems.
HONOR has promised additional information about MagicOS 7.0 by the end of the year 2022. We don’t know which version of Android it will use, but we’re crossing our fingers that it’s Android 13 by the time HONOR releases it.
