Land Transportation Office (LTO) is actively working towards taking full control of the IT system that has been under the management of a German firm since 2019.

The system, known as the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS), has been the epicenter of all LTO transactions.

LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II has expressed that this move will not only accelerate the agency’s services but also tackle various technical concerns raised by both the Commission on Audit and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
Mendoza asserts that LTO’s own team of IT experts is more than capable of running and maintaining the system. They have been diligently working to enhance the system for a smoother and more user-friendly transaction experience, making full use of the LTMS as an online platform.

This initiative aligns with President Marcos’s directive to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista to digitize all government transactions, aiming to provide faster and more convenient services to the public.
The LTO is striving to transition to fully digital transactions by the end of November this year. Currently, LTMS handles 100% of driver’s license issuance and 95% of motor vehicle registration renewals.
