In South Korea, LG Electronics launched a mid-ranged priced phone called LG Q52. Though it may seem like it’s an underperformer, as seen from the specs, it actually comes with a certain feature most phones don’t — the MIL-STD-810G rating. Available in Silky White and Silky Red colors, LG Q52 is on sale in its homeland for KRW 330,000 (~Php14,100).
From the surface, LG Q52 looks like a standard phone as it packs 6.6 HD+ IPS LCD with Helio P35 at the helm. It’s also paired with 4GB RAM and expandable 64GB storage. There are four cameras on the back, featuring a 48MP f1.8 main sensor with 8MP ultrawide and a pair of 2MP lenses for macro and depth. The 13MP selfie camera is housed inside a centered-pinhole cutout, which is good to see as the likes of Vivo V20 Pro is still stuck with an old-looking notch.
The outstanding feature, by far, of the Q52, is its MIL-STD-810G certification. It means that its polycarbonate body can withstand more than day-to-day beating. Passing 26 test drops, all surfaces of the phone can handle 4-feet drops at most, thus making it a perfect device for kids or any clumsy person.
Unfortunately, there’s no word yet whether LG will bring the Q52 to other markets.
