Lenovo has unveiled its high-end and mid-end gaming laptops this year. Dubbed respectively as Legion Y740 and Y540, the company’s famous gaming laptop line brings RTX into play together with a 144Hz panel made and Dolby Vision HDR support.

Lenovo Legion Y740 (15-inch and 17-inch)

Starting with the high-end, the Lenovo Legion Y740 tops massively at 17.3-inch IPS FHD 144Hz display. It features an 8th gen Intel i7-8750H and up to RTX 2080 Max-Q. RAM slots support up to 32GB DDR4 in a single dual-channel style. While storage gets you a 2.5″ bay for expanding and an M.2 NVMe slot.

In terms of build, the Legion Y740 features a 76Wh battery, subwoofer unit, Corsair RGB backlit keyboard and RGB touches on the side/back ventilation with an option to turn off.

The Legion Y740 also comes in at 15-inch size with pretty much the same specs except with a 57Wh, up to RTX 2070 Max-Q in a lighter 2.2kg weight.

Further, the Y740 lineup supports G-Sync or you can go for an FHD panel with Dolby Vision HDR support.

Lenovo Legion Y540 (15-inch)

In a rather less expensive side, the Lenovo Legion Y540 might be the sweetest spot for most consumers. It features the same display panel with G-Sync and optional Dolby Vision HDR but with toned down hardware.

The build starts with an entire plastic build with no RGB involved (except a regular backlit keyboard). Moreover, you will be missing the Thunderbolt 3 port.
