Samsung has announced its newest innovations for camera sensors, the ISOCELL 2.0 which will be the foundation for future powerful cameras. The new sensor is expected to provide an immense improvement when it comes to the overall quality of light sensitivity and color. For higher megapixel phones that would be coming out soon, this new innovation of sensor technology is highly needed.
In a video provided by the company, it is expected that it would minimize “optical loss” and give big improvements in light sensitivity. This will enhance camera sensors that have smaller pixels and would eventually punch above their weight and take in more light. Also, it was mentioned that the sensors would come with more pixels that would make more pictures finer in detail with no decline in the quality of vivid color reproduction.
Generally, Samsung uses ISOCELL in their smartphone camera sensors, and with recent developments, they upgraded with the ISOCELL Plus which changed some materials to better improve picture quality. With the use of the upcoming ISOCELL 2.0, a tremendous change would certainly be seen in the future smartphones of Samsung.
We can already expect Samsung to incorporate the ISOCELL 2.0 camera sensors in their upcoming units that would be released within the year. Also, Samsung confirmed that 0.7-micron pixel sensors, which were announced late last year, would have the technology which would be produced by Samsung’s semiconductor division.
With this new innovation in camera sensors, we could just wait for it to be available in the market for us to see the difference with the previous ISOCELL.
