iOS 26.5 Beta 1 Released with Minor Upgrades

iOS 26.5 Beta 1

According to a report by Macworld and senior editor Jason Cross, Apple has released iOS 26.5 beta 1, but it still does not include the expected Siri upgrades.

Features such as a new foundation model, on-screen awareness, personal context, and deeper app actions are still unavailable.

These changes are now reportedly being planned for iOS 27 instead. The next major update is expected later this year, with more advanced Apple Intelligence features likely to be introduced.

Some of these upgrades could also be previewed at WWDC in June.

While Siri remains unchanged, iOS 26.5 beta 1 includes a few smaller additions, such as new subscription options, including monthly billing tied to a 12-month commitment through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

Apple is also testing a “Suggested Places” feature in Maps. This may highlight locations, including paid placements, although availability appears limited for now.

For users who want to try the update, iOS 26.5 beta can be installed through the Apple Beta Software Program or via a developer account.
