Instagram has officially introduced Instagram Plus, a new optional subscription.
The Plus offers additional features focused on story sharing, account customization, and audience insights.
Instagram said the existing version of the platform will remain free, with Instagram Plus available as an optional upgrade.
Among the new features are Story Spotlight, which gives stories higher visibility among friends, and Super Hearts, animated reactions for stories. Subscribers can also create multiple story audience lists and extend story visibility from 24 hours to 48 hours.
Instagram Plus also adds new story-related insights. Users can preview stories without immediately reacting, see how many times a story was rewatched, and search for specific people in a story’s viewer list.
Customization features include alternative app icons, custom profile bio fonts, support for up to six pinned posts, and the option to post directly to a profile or highlights without showing the post in followers’ feeds.
Instagram Plus is rolling out globally starting June 4, 2026.
Meta said additional features will be added to the subscription in the coming months.
