Instagram has rolled out an update to its standalone video creation and editing app Edits.
The rollout introduces new tools, including bilingual captions, enhanced template tools, and new seasonal sound effects, designed to enhance both accessibility and creative freedom for creators.
The highlight of the update is bilingual captions, which allows creators to automatically translate captions into a secondary language to reach wider audiences. It currently supports English, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, Gujarati, Spanish, Hindi, Korean, Bengali, German, Italian, Thai, French, Japanese, and Kannada. More languages are expected to be added soon.
Meanwhile, the app now supports richer templates with overlay feature, which help creators build more layered video edits. There’s also an option to lock specific clips, allowing users to freeze specific clips in place to preserve key elements, better editing, and reusability.
Instagram Edits also adds seasonal sound effects for summer-themed audio effects for video content.
The new update is now rolling out to the Instagram Edits app.
