We are back with another gaming review, and this time, we’ll talk about one of Infinix’s latest gaming smartphones, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro.
This device is priced under PHP15,000, supports a whopping 144Hz refresh rate display, and is backed by a 5,200mAh battery with 90W fast charging.
Can the Infinix Note 50 Pro handle all six games we usually test? Let’s find out!
First is Mobile Legends. Its default settings are set to a high frame rate with high graphics quality.
We bumped it up to super frame rate and paired it with ultra graphics. As for its gameplay performance, we never encountered any problems at all.
There were no frame drops or stutters, even in clashes. However, our frame rate never exceeded the 61 mark. Still, its performance was smooth and responsive.
So, for Mobile Legends with super frame rate and ultra graphics, we got a consistent 60 to 61 FPS.
As for League of Legends: Wild Rift, the default settings were set to quality with 30 frames. We changed it to custom with 120 frames turned on, paired with high graphics quality and medium resolution, and effects quality. Just like Mobile Legends, it delivered a smooth gaming experience with little to no problems.
However, this time our FPS went slightly under the 60 mark, but there were no slowdowns during the entire playthrough. There were no stutters or frame drops, even in clashes, which is great. The only time I encountered a frame drop or stutter was during the opening scene.
So, for League of Legends: Wild Rift with 120 frames, high graphics quality, and medium resolution and effects, we got about 58 to 61 FPS.
When it comes to FPS games like Call of Duty Mobile, the default settings are set to medium graphics paired with a medium frame rate.
We bumped it up to a high frame rate and tested its performance. Just like Wild Rift, the FPS also dropped below 60. Still, we experienced smooth gameplay. There were no stutters or frame drops during gunfights, which is great. You can easily land your flick shots with little to no problem.
So, for Call of Duty Mobile with medium graphics and high frame rate, we got about 57 to 60 FPS.
Now for graphically demanding games. First is Zenless Zone Zero, where we set the settings to low + 60 FPS. While navigating the game’s overworld, we experienced some frame drops in certain areas, especially during the daytime, due to the number of people in the area.
Loading times were also longer than usual, and the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro felt warmer compared to the first three games. In combat, we encountered multiple frame drops and stutters. I would only recommend doing dailies on this device, as this game relies heavily on dodges and parries, which might be difficult with low frame rates.
So, for Zenless Zone Zero with low + 60 FPS, we got 19 to 21 FPS in exploration and around 12 to 20 FPS in combat.
Next is Genshin Impact, with the same low + 60 FPS setting. Surprisingly, it ran smoother than Zenless Zone Zero despite being an open-world game.
Exploration was good with some minor stutters and frame drops, but they were barely noticeable. We also tried a floor in the Abyss, and it performed as expected—smooth with no stutters or frame drops, even when activating ultimate skills and switching characters.
So yes, both dailies and end-game content are playable on Infinix NOTE 50 Pro. That means, for Genshin Impact with low + 60 FPS, we got 30 to 34 FPS in exploration and 34 to 38 FPS in combat.
Lastly, we have Wuthering Waves. Unfortunately, even with the same settings as the first two graphically demanding games, Wuthering Waves is not ideal for this device. It showed too much stuttering and frame drops in combat. Exploration was also laggy, which is a bit unfortunate.
Just like Zenless Zone Zero, this game relies on dodges and parries, and with all the FPS drops, timing your dodges becomes difficult. So for me, Wuthering Waves is unplayable on Infinix NOTE 50 Pro.
With low + 60 FPS settings, we got about 12 to 16 FPS in and out of combat.
Overall, for the price of PHP11,999, the Infinix Note 50 Pro 4G is not an ideal device for graphically demanding games.
However, it is a solid option if you’re playing competitive titles. Games like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty run smoothly on the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro with little to no problems. Although Genshin Impact runs decently, I would still recommend opting for a different device if you plan to play more demanding titles.
