Xiaomi Mijia Portable Coffee Machine Now Official

Xiaomi has unveiled a new portable coffee maker under the Mijia brand, signaling the brand’s entry into the portable coffee appliance industry.

The Mijia Portable Coffee Machine is a battery-powered espresso maker that is ideal for travel, camping, or office use. t has a form factor similar to a standard vacuum flask, but it operates similarly to a standard espresso machine.

The device measures 24.5cm in height and 7.15cm in width, built to fit into a backpack or a car cup holder.

A 20-bar electromagnetic pump is being utilized to extract coffee, and it incorporates a dual-compatible brewing chamber design that allows switching between using regular coffee capsules and freshly ground coffee.

The portable coffee maker uses a PID algorithm and a ceramic heating element for temperature control, keeping the water at a steady temperature of 92°C (197°F). A typical brew cycle takes about 45 seconds to finish, and it supports both hot and cold extraction.

Moreover, it is equipped with three 2,500 mAh batteries for a total of 7,500 mAh capacity. It charges via USB-C at up to 45W, and is claimed to reach 80 percent charge in around 30 minutes and full capacity in 80 minutes. It also supports charging with standard portable power banks.

Battery life varies depending on use case. When pre-heated water is poured into the chamber, the machine bypasses the internal heater and only uses its battery to power the extraction pump. In this mode, the brand said that it can yield up to 400 cups per charge.

Meanwhile, using room-temperature water and actively use the internal ceramic heater to warm it up can drain the battery significantly faster, yielding approximately 3 cups per charge.

In terms of durability, its exterior has an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance. The brewing chamber is fully detachable and can be cleaned.

Several accessories are included, such as a carrying case, an aluminum alloy stand, a metal coffee basket, a scoop, and a double-wall stainless steel cup.

The Xiaomi Mijia Portable Coffee Machine is priced at CNY 799 (~PHP 7,182.52) and is now available in China.

There’s no word yet on its local availability. Stay tuned for more updates.
