Aside from the MatePad 10.4″ (2022) tablet, Huawei also unveiled the Sound Joy portable speaker in the Philippines.
The speaker is co-engineered with Devialet, a premium French audio technology company, and sports a portable and stylish long barrel-like design. It is encased in a specially woven fabric that offers a standout, dynamic look and ensures a more comfortable touch. It also provides robust and rugged protection. In addition, it is certified with IP67 water resistance, staying protected in up to 1 meter of water.
It comes in Obsidian Black and Spruce Green colorways.
For audio, it features a loud 79 dBA @ 2 m Devialet 2-way speaker system and Devialet SAM technology for aligning the signal and acoustic output pressure. Its 20 W full range speaker employs a specially engineered carbon-fiber diaphragm to help bass frequencies as low as 50 Hz. Meanwhile, the 10 W Silk Dome Tweeter inside, tuned by Devialet, offers frequencies up to 20 kHz for clarity even at very high volumes. There’s also the dual ‘push-push’ passive radiator that further enhances low-frequency sensitivity and extension, with a maximum excursion of up to 16 mm for better device stability.
Moreover, the Huawei Sound Joy has a One-Touch Transfer feature that instantly transfers the user’s track by touching their phone to the speaker, as well as an auto-discovery feature to connect easier, and Shake Stereo Link-up to connect multiple Sound Joys by shaking.
For performance, it packs an 8,800mAh battery with 44W super-fast charging and up to 26 hours of playback from a single charge. It can also give an hour of playback from a short 10-minute charge.
Other features include a multi-color ring, a voice assistant button, Bluetooth 5.2, and Huawei Watch Control. It measures 202 x 73 mm and weighs about 680 grams.

The Huawei Sound Joy is priced at PHP 6,999 and is available at the official Huawei Online Store, Shopee, and Lazada. The portable speaker comes with a free Huawei Moon Light for PHP 999 from May 6 to 15.
