Oh no! Have you forgotten the password for your protected WiFi network? A friend or family member is seeking access, yet you cannot remember? 

You can easily retrieve the password in Windows 11 by following these steps. Here’s what you need to do.

The first thing you need to do is launch the Control Panel. It’s easy to do this by entering the “control panel” in the search box or the Run box, depending on how you want to do it.

Next, you must click on Networks and Internet and follow the instructions.

At the Connections section of the page, click on the name of the active WiFi network you want to connect to.

The next step is to click Wireless Properties on the left side of the screen.

To reveal the WiFi password, go to the Security tab and tick the Show Characters checkbox.

First, open the Settings app on your phone, and then go to the Network & Internet section.

The next step is to click on the Advanced Network Settings button on the bottom part of the window.

After you have located the WiFi adapter, you will want to double-click on it.

On the Wireless Properties page, click on the Wireless tab.

To reveal the WiFi password, switch to the Security tab, and tick the Show Characters checkbox so that it will be visible.

Command Prompt for Windows 11 WiFi Passwords

The first thing you need to do is launch the Command Prompt with administrator privileges. The easiest way to do this is to press Win+R to open the Run box, type cmd in the box, and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to launch the command window.

Enter the following command into the Command Prompt: netsh wlan show profiles.

To recover the password of a WiFi network whose name you want to find out, you need to enter its name into the command prompt as follows:

It is now necessary to go to Security Settings on the computer and look for the Key Content section to find the password.

This method only works if you already have the WiFi password saved on your Windows 11 computer. You may need to try another way of sharing your WiFi connection if that doesn’t work.

The password can also be retrieved from the admin/web panel of the router or wireless access point. You may want to enable the guest WiFi while you’re at the admin panel to avoid having to keep sharing the password to your private network with anyone outside your circle of friends.
