In a previous update, Google added emoji replies to the Google Docs web version. With the most recent update, you can now enter emojis while you’re writing. Users should find it easier to add emojis to Google Docs for the web upgrade. Emojis may now be added to a document being worked on by a user by searching for them in Docs, according to a blog post on the Google Workspace website.

Availability
This emoji insertion option for Google Docs became accessible on August 29. The following several weeks will see full accessibility and it is now switched on by default. Google says that this service will be available to all Google Workspace clients, existing G Suite Basic and Business users, and users with personal accounts.
How to add emoticons to a document while working on it
1. Any browser on your desktop should launch Google Docs, where you may begin editing a document.
2. A list will show when you write @:, which you may navigate through using the arrow keys. Use up/down while typing your chosen emojis to swiftly browse.
3. Additionally, pressing right twice will enable a complete emoji picker with search, Google’s standard grid, and category grouping.
4. To use an emoji, just write @:emoji name and hit Enter.
5. It can also rapidly tag people, link documents, make lists (checklists, numbered, and bulleted), insert templates (meeting notes, draft emails, product roadmaps, review trackers), and do a lot more.
6. As an alternative, you may add emojis by selecting the Emoji option from the drop-down menu when you click on the Insert tab at the top of the page.
Users may utilize ‘@:’ and search phrases to seek for emojis in a Google Docs document directly. For instance, users may type “@:panda” and click Enter to get a collection of emojis related to pandas.
