Honor introduced its second folding phone, the Honor Magic Vs. Despite being one of the brand’s first foldable smartphones, it is fully capable of competing with the top foldable phones on the market. Unfortunately, it is still not available on the worldwide market, but if you are from China or import it, you may now purchase one. Is it, however, the greatest foldable phone available? There is no better way to comprehend it than to compare it to the most popular foldable phone on the market. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is currently the only last-generation folding phone capable of transforming into a tablet marketed in the worldwide market. As a result, we decided to produce a comparison of the Honor Magic VS and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.

Design

The form factors of the Honor Magic Vs and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 are identical. They include a foldable internal display that converts the phone into a tablet, as well as a smaller exterior display that converts it into a standard phone when folded. Personally, I like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 since its dimensions are smaller and its design is simpler. Further, this phone is waterproof with the IPX8 certification and it features an armor aluminum frame with a great drop and scratch resistance. As a result, it has a very excellent build quality. However, the Honor Magic Vs color choice with a leader black and a magnesium alloy frame are really appealing. The Honor phone is not waterproof, but the build quality remains excellent.

Display

In terms of visual quality, the screens on these two phones are not that dissimilar. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 sports a 7.6-inch internal AMOLED display with a 2K+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10+ certification, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The Honor Magic Vs features a one-billion-color OLED display, a 7.9-inch diagonal, 2K+ resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 features a smaller 6.2-inch display with an HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but the Honor Magic Vs has a larger 6.45-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution, one billion colors, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It’s worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 supports the S Pen, whilst the Honor phone doesn’t.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 appears to have a superior main camera: a 50MP main sensor with OIS. It also has a more advanced telephoto sensor and 3x optical zoom. The Honor Magic Vs, on the other hand, offers a superior ultrawide camera with a 50MP resolution rather than merely 12MP.

Specs & Performance

Except for the internal storage of the most costly version, the hardware departments are on par. Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, which was designed with a 4 nm manufacturing process and an octa-core architecture comprised of a Cortex X2 core running at 3.19 GHz, three Cortex A710 cores running at 2.75 GHz, four Cortex A510 cores running at 1.8 GHz, and an Adreno 730 GPU. On the Magic Vs, the processor is coupled with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, while the Samsung offers up to 1 TB of internal storage. The Samsung runs Android 12L out of the box, which is a modified version of Android geared for big screens such as those seen on foldable phones, whereas the Honor gadget uses Android 12.

Battery

The Honor Magic Vs boasts a larger battery and a longer battery life, as well as faster charging rates owing to 66W fast charging.

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 starts at Php98,990, while the Honor Magic Vs starts at €1020/$1020 (around Php56,930). Which one would you choose?
