
It was officially announced by Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, that they will give out an OTA, over-the-air, update for the Honor 7X. This update will make the face unlock feature possible for the device.
The first two Honor smartphones to receive the face unlock feature was the Honor View 10 and the Honor 9 Lite thus making the Honor 7X the third Honor phone to include the feature. According to a statement made by the company, the update will be completed in the middle of March. Furthermore, P Sanjeev, Vice-President of Sales in Huawei Consumer Business Group, mentioned that the ‘Face Unlock’ intelligent feature is usually available in flagship-level smartphones but Honor has introduced this feature in the coveted Honor 7X.
Honor 7X contains a 5.93-inch Full-HD+ IPS display with screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. The handset also features a HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core chipset with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. It will run on EMUI 5.1 with 4GB of RAM and will come in either 32GB or 64GB storage.
