ASUS will announce the ZenFone 8 Series next week, but official-looking renders of the upcoming devices have been shared online already, thus giving us an idea of how the ZenFone 8 Flip and the ZenFone 8 Mini will look like.
Apparently, ASUS may be ditching the ‘Pro’ moniker in favor of ‘Flip,’ indicating that the model comes with motorized, flipping cameras like the ZenFone 6 and 7 Pro. Based on the renders, the ZenFone 8 Flip will look like its predecessor — from the dimension to the weight. And aside from the new Snapdragon 888 chip, the other specs and features are pretty much identical to the ZenFone 7 Pro, such as the 6.67″ FHD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED, 64MP main, 8MP telephoto, 12MP macro/ultrawide, and 5000mAh with 30W fast charger.
Unlike last year, ASUS is planning to release a mini phone which people assume is the ZenFone 8 Mini. However, the latest rumor suggests that it may be called ZenFone 8 only, sans the flippy cameras. The ZenFone 8 will feature a 5.92″ FHD+ AMOLED, which is pretty small by today’s standards, alongside Snapdragon 888, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 64MP main and 12MP macro/ultrawide cameras, and a 4000mAh battery with a 30W fast charger. While the dimension reveals a relatively thick phone at 9mm, it’s fairly lightweight at 170g. The only confirmed feature of the ZenFone 8 is its IP68 water and dust resistance rating.
We should hear more about the ZenFone 8 Series next week.
